As Plum Blossoms are in full bloom during Winter in China, we cannot help but associate them with Chinese New Year. They are so pretty and I would love to grow the real blossom, but for now we’ll decorate our house with Craft Plum Blossom. They are very like Cherry Blossom, my dream is to have a huge Cherry Blossom Tree in my garden to sit under and read. There is one by my house but it is right next to a road and I would get some funny looks if I were to sit there!
These Plum Blossom in vases were so simple to make using pink tissue paper and brown pipe cleaners.
1. Take at least three brown pipe cleaners.
2. Twist the bottoms of the pipe cleaners together until you have created a branch.
3. Tear the tissue paper into strips. Scrunch up each strip.
We applied a little bit of PVA glue to each tissue paper ball. We twisted and stuck each tissue paper blossom onto the pipe cleaner branches.
4. Arrange your Tissue Paper Plum Blossoms into vases or bouquets.
Enjoy your Chinese New Year Plum Blossoms!
We also painted some simple Plum Blossom pictures.
I painted a simple stem for Isabelle and she did pink finger print blossoms.
As she finished her painting first, she also coloured in pink blossom over my crayon stem.
She loves crayons!
