Hi,
I’ve just had some news! The results of Danny’s Gymnastic Competition have been announced…
…he won a medal for both of his events, one gold and one bronze!
“Daniel, you’re a STAR!”
We were so proud of him anyway just for taking part in a big competition, but I can’t wait to see him now, to tell him really, really well done and huge congratulations!
It’s lovely that he got the chance to stand on the podium and collect his medals too. For the local Pembrokeshire heats, he was in the toilet when the winners were announced (typical Danny!). In the Welsh round, his name wasn’t called out, so we assumed he hadn’t placed. We later found out, they just forgot to announce the winners of his category. He had won Gold and Silver. His medals arrived in the post months later.
They are back on the Coach now, with a four or five hour journey home ahead of them.
So, we’ll have a tired little boy tomorrow morning! I’m sure he’ll be excited to bring his medals to school, but first thing he has his flu jabs to look forward to!
Well done to every gymnast who took part in the event today, a special well done to Pembrokeshire Special Needs Gym Club, who have all done very well. I hear Danny’s friend, Bobby also has a Gold and a Bronze (Well done, Bobby!), and I’m sure there are lots more medals on the coach coming home.
A big thank you to all the VOLUNTEER coaches who give so much of their time every week to helping our children.
Well, it was nice to have some good news this weekend.
I hope it’s a good omen for the week and we’ll have a HEALTHY, happy week ahead of us.
I hope you all have a lovely week too!
love
Claire
