Chad Valley Singalong Keyboard Review and a Chance to Win a £75 Argos Voucher

I'm pleased to announce that we are once again part of the Chad Valley Play Panel.  This is a great opportunity to test out a variety of toys from the Chad Valley range (available at Argos) and also to be able to host generous competitions for you, our readers (read on for a chance to win a £75 Argos Voucher which I'm sure will come in handy for Christmas):

Chad Valley Singalong Keyboard, Stand and Stool Review

The first toy that we have chosen to review is the Chad Valley Singalong Keyboard, Stand and Stool (currently on sale at £19.99).  All of our kids have always loved musical (read noisy) toys and this is something we've been happy to encourage from a young age.

The keyboard comes in a bright, attractive box- little ones would be more than happy to receive this as a "big present" on Christmas day.

Instructions are included and the keyboard and stool are very quick and easy to put together.  Three AA batteries and a screwdriver are required.

Once set up the singalong keyboard is intuitive to turn on and use.  Izzy had good fun making up tunes and songs.  She also enjoyed "playing along" to the  nineteen well known demo songs, such as "If You're Happy and You Know It".  The singalong microphone is great fun- she was so happy when she found out it "really worked"!

The drum pad can play four  animal sounds: dog, bird, frog and duck or four drumbeat sounds: bass drum, hi-hat, tom drum and guiro.  You can also change the tempo and volume.  This keyboard has eight instrument sound effects: piano, organ, violin, trumpet, bell, mandolin, guitar and music box and eight rhythm sound effects: slow rock, rock, new age, disco, march, waltz, samba and blues.

The keyboard features fun flashing lights and thirty two real piano keys so you can actually play a tune.  The older kids had great fun teaching Izzy simple tunes such as Twinkle Twinkle and Star Wars- no doubt Jingle Bells will be a favourite in the next coming weeks!  Tunes can be recorded and played back too.

We've always had a keyboard in the house for the kids to use - Danny even had a "kick keyboard" in his cot from a newborn. I highly recommend the Chad Valley Singalong Keyboard, Stand and Stool for younger children from aged three years and up.

See the keyboard in action in our short video below:
